Inglot Blush Palette - Freedom Sytem

I'm currently having a bit of a love in with Inglot at the moment, I can't believe they were off my radar for so long.

For those of you unaware of Inglots freedom system, allow me give you a little run down. First you decide how many eye shadows, blusher etc you want. I believe they start with 3 items and go up as far as 20, you then get to pick which ever colours you wish for your palette. Great idea if you ask me!!! I've bought many an eyeshadow palette and thought I wish there was this colour instead of that colour.

For my blush palette I chose the four pan option. (I hope im calcuating this corretly €42, €9 per blush then the palette when bought with the 4 blush is half price at €6)

From left to right: 34, 47, 20,52

My favourite colour in this palette is the hot pink colour (52) I just love me some hot pink.  They are all very pigmented and I think they give me a great variety in my kit.

No 34 was chosen for me by the lovely girl who served me (Enisa), I don't think I'd of chosen this one myself but I have to say its really nice on it has some subtle glitter in it.  Really nice if you are going for a nice natural look.

Blush can really make or break a makeup look so choosing the right colour for your skin tone is the key. I would say if you aren't sure always ask the makeup artist / adviser which one they would recommend for you. And don't be afraid to ask them to try it out on you they'd be only too happy to oblige.

My advice on choosing blush, if you're going for a dramatic eye choose a blush that complements it and doesn't compete with it. Same with a natural look choose something subtle, that goes with the overall look. Always apply a little at at a time, its easier to add to blusher than take away and nobody wants the "aunt Sally" look now do they :) If you do over do it, use the remaining foundation on your brush or sponge over it this will help tone it down.

So if you haven't yet taken the plunge, do it, call into Inglot! you wont be disappointed.

Have you any Inglot favourites I should know about?

Love

Inglot AMC Foundation Review

I don't think I'll be alone in this, I am constantly searching for my all time favourite foundation. Every time I run out I buy a different brand. I do have a current favourite which is Estèe Lauder Double Wear, it just does not budge!!! It's great for work . I couldn't be bothered fixing my face while I'm there yet at the same time I want to always look my best. One problem with Estèe Lauder Double Wear is I find it doesn't photograph very well when there is a flash involved (I blame the SPF)

Inglot AMCfoundation contains no SPF. I carry this foundation in my kit and it photographs really nicely. It’s a great option for nights out so that you won’t get that dreaded white mask in photos!

What Inglot say about this foundation:"Vitamin E, peptides and special polyesters are combined with a unique silicone and gel base to keep all skin types (especially dry) illuminated and moisturized."

What I say:  You can most definitely feel the silicone and gel in this foundation it feels super silky on the skin (actually really nice feeling, the Double wear is the opposite sometimes feeling tight). It’s definitely illuminating but doesn't give off that glittery effect that some illuminating foundations can. I have dry/combination skin so this was perfect from me, Although I'm not too sure that it would be great for oily skin as it tends to move around a lot so if you're oily I would recommend maybe giving this a miss or try it over a mattifying primer and most definitely powder over it. It's supposed to be a full coverage foundation but I would say it’s more medium.

I've been road testing this foundation in work over the past few weeks and I'm sorry to say for me it’s not work friendly.  I've tried it, with primer, without primer with Inglot powder with Mac powder, but unfortunately it doesn't stay in place :(. That said I touch my face a million times a day so most foundations would have a hard time with that! It lasts up to about lunch time and then starts to disappear from my nose and chin, which is a pity because I had high hopes for it.

I'm not completely writing it off, as I said earlier it’s a great foundation for photographs and nights out and at €22.00 you can't go wrong. I've tried plenty of more expensive foundations that were not as good as this one is. Inglot is a fantastic brand at fantastic prices.

I'm moving onto the YSM foundation now, gonna give this one a go see how it gets on. :)

Have you tried Inglot yet?

My Current Cleansing Routine - Philosophy Purity Cleanser

The basis for good makeup is good skin, something we all strive to achieve. Getting it isn't as simple as it seems. I will be the first to admit that I have been somewhat lazy of late and at times only use face cleansing wipes or baby wipes to cleanse my skin. And while face wipes are dead handy and better than using nothing at all, they don't give your skin the cleansing it needs. I read recently on another blog (JaynesKitschen.co.uk) some skincare advice that will stick with me for life (please God!), in a blog totally unrelated to skincare, might I add :). You can read Jayne's blog post on blogging tips (part of a series) here. Make sure to read to the end the skincare tip from Caroline Hirons is a cracker!

Anyway on to what I am currently using and loving at the moment. (I'll do a mini blog post on each item, because one post was far too long :))

First up - Philosophy Purity Cleanser

When I shower I normally do so at night (those extra few minutes in bed in the morning mean too much to me). This means I normally have a full face of slap on me. So for cleansing my face in the shower I am currently using Philosophy's Purity Cleanser.

It's a 3 in 1 cleanser for face and eyes. I've somewhat sensitive eyes but I find it very gentle on them and removes all eye makeup, even Inglots gel eyeliner which can be a hefty task.  It doesn't get foamy or lather up, so that's something that might be off-putting (I don't normally like the types that don't lather! I feel like they are aren't up to the job if they don't lather :)) however I really really like this one.

It has a kind of "visit to the spa" scent about it, if that makes any sense, a real beauty salon smell. It does leave your face with that “tight after soap” feel, which some people hate, but I don’t mind that too much cos I know I will be moisturising afterwards anyway.

This has really made a difference to my skin it feels less bumpy and I haven't had any breakouts yet (something I am prone to at that time of the month). I bought this in Boots in the sale its only a weeny bottle, but when this runs out I will deffo be purchasing the larger bottle which retails for about €19.

Unfortunately Philosophy don't deliver to Ireland but you can get your hands on the Philosophy range in Boots.

FOTD

You'll have to forgive the quality of the photo, I know it's not great. I tried a close up of my eyes but it seems I have the most unphotogenic eyes on the planet, so until I up skill on the photo taking you'll have to bear with me.

Foundation- Mac Studio Sculpt NW25
Powder - Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in medium
Highlight - Benefit's Girl Meets Pearl
Blush - Inglot no 34
Contour - Benefit Hoola
Eyebrows - Avon True Colour 6 in 1 Eye Palette Neutral Eyes - the matte taupe colour

Inglot Duraline Review

I don't know how many times I've thrown away gel / cream eyeliners that have dried out with still a large amount of product still in the jar, I'm sure you guys are the same.

Take my ELF studio cream eyeliner, a fave of mine for a while now. Cheap as chips (£3.75), easy to apply, lasts all day. Its taken it a while to dry out (in fairness) but its dried out all the same. Was breaking my heart to throw it out. So on a recent shopping trip to Inglot, I was introduced to Duraline.

Duraline is a liquid which Inglot say "will transform any powder into an intense easy to apply liquid". But when the girl at the counter told me it would also revive dried out gel liners too. I had to have it.

It's a small bottle 9ml/ .30oz with a glass dropper. The dropper is a great idea means you can ad as little or as much product as you need.

I've revived my ELF eye liner and I am delighted with the outcome.

So for anyone who has a gel eyeliner on its way out especially more expensive ones you should definitely invest in this product.

I tried it out with some eye shadows too and true to its word it does exactly what it says on the tin.

Inglot in slowly becoming my all time favourite brand!!!

Have you any gel liners in need of a pick me up?

Inglot eyeshadows review + swatches

I couldn't tell you how many times I have walked by the Inglot store in Liffey Valley (Dublin) and thought "I must have a look at their stuff "and never gone in.  Big mistake!!!

I'm gonna tell ye from the off.... I am in love with their eye shadows.  Very pigmented and so creamy some of the most bendable eye shadows I have used.

Not really knowing the brand, when I was asked if i needed help I said yes straight away.  I was looked after by the lovely Enisa who was so so helpful,  I hate when you are at a counter and the staff are snooty and forceful. This girl really knew her stuff and was none of the above.

The first palette I got was really a neutral/bridal palette for the kit. All matte colours with one or two exceptions.

Top Row : 351 matte, 393 pearl, 361 matte, 344 matte, 325 matte
Bottom Row: 391 matte, 376 matte, 327 matte, 402 pearl, 360 Matte

Swatches:

I have to tell you that colour 361 (the peach colour) was the dark horse, I personally wouldn't have picked this colour myself but I went with Enisa's advice and I am delighted that I did. This colour can completely change an eye look from cool toned to warm toned, I love it!!

With my 2nd palette I wanted to be a bit more adventurous but not too much as this was also a palette that was going in my kit.

Top Row: 328 matte, 07 shine, 15 shine, 335 matte, 43 shine.
Bottom Row: 450 pearl, 445 pearl,433 pearl,44 shine, 21 shine.

Swatches:

Theses photo's don't really do this palette justice there are a few mac dupes in this one I chose the colours in this palette myself.  433 and 44 are deffo dupes for Mac's sumptuous olive and Humid.  The first colour in this palette 328 also reminds me of Mac's Brulee eyeshadow.

I am blown away by the pigmentation and quality of these palettes for €55.  You get so much product for your money too compared to some other brands for just as high quality.  And they look so professional too.  I like the magnetised lid, but I'd say you need to be careful when taking it on and off.

I have been using these eye shadows all over the Christmas without primer and they really last on my eyes.

If you are looking for eye shadows but cant quite afford or justify mac prices then these are the eye shadow's for you.

I'll deffo be purchasing more of these pallets.

what are your thoughts on these palettes? or do you have any recommendations for me?

Let me know your thoughts

Building my professional makeup kit

let's face it starting out as a freelance makeup artist is a daunting task.  What to buy and where to buy it from can be overwhelming.

I trained with makeupforever in Dublin and although I adore their products my budget wouldn't have gotten me much.  I asked around and the name that kept coming up was Inglot. Affordable yet professional quality and with my professional discount (20%) I would get a lot more for my money.

In the next few blogs I will review all the items I got and let you know if they are as good as I hoping :)

Here's what I got :

10 Pan eyeshadow palette
5 pan blusher palette
5 pan eyebrow palette
5 pan lipstick palette
loose powder
2 gel eyeliners
2 lip liners
2 pan contouring palette
2 AMC concealer
Duraline
Brush Cleaner
4 x YSM foundations
3 x AMC foundations
Blending brush
Eyeliner brush
Under eye brightener
False lash effect mascara
Clear lip gloss

* All bought for me by my hubby for Christmas (love him) so this is not a sponsored post.

I also got a voucher from my sister (thanks Jen) so I bought a 2nd 10 pan palette.

As soon as i have used the products above enough there will be reviews on them all.
