I was really hoping this would be a better review but alas its not. If you frequent Lidl you'll have seen the Self tanning milk and self tanning mousse. At €1.99 and €2.99 I thought they were worth trying and certainly weren't going to break the bank. (and I even think at the moment they are on offer too with a euro off)
Now a wee disclaimer, I only tried the mousse, because after that I just couldn't be bothered trying the milk. The mouse is white so there is no guide colour, which I don't like anyway. I normally apply tan last thing at night after my shower, I am generally rushing when applying it. So no guide colour can be disastrous. It has a really weird consistency too, almost felt soapy a bit like a shaving foam. It applied well but took a while to dry into the skin.
The results: I got all the fake tan smell but very very little tan. Now I will say, my skin is absolutely crap at tanning and developing a fake tan, especially my legs. This was more like one of those gradual tanners rather than a fake tan, if that makes sense. It wore off well and although I wasn't a golden goddess, there was a noticeable change to my skin.
It wasn't the worst I've tried but I'd rather spend the extra money and buy the Cocoa Brown tan instead.
I'm almost out of the Cocoa Brown at the moment so I think I might try one of the other newer tans on the market and see how I get on. So watch this space for more reviews.
Lots of love

Wow Brown Liquid Tan - Review
Just in time for Tan Thursday. I recently attended the Irish Beauty show in the RDS Dublin. I had a few items on my list that I had to buy, one of these items was Wow Brown self tan.
Wow Brown is an Irish brand created by Fran and Don.
The lovely girls at the stand were so helpful (and the stand looked great too). I have skin that just wont go a dark colour with any self tan. It will take but will not be very noticeable. I relayed this to the girl at the stand and she told me that one of the developers of this tan Don also had the same problem and guaranteed me this would work. She suggested I buy the liquid tan. So that's what I got. And it was on offer for €10 which was a steal.
This bottle is 100ml so perfect for travelling with!.
What Wow Brown say about this tan:
THE GOSS ON WOW BROWN READY TO GLO™:
Ready to Glo is Fran and Don's darkest tanning formula.Designed for gals who want a dark tan in seconds that lasts 7-10 days.
This condensed tanning liquid gives you the same full body applications as it's sister product DIY.
The bottle also says with a scent that's boyfriend friendly.
What I say: OK so let me just remind you, I never ever get a dark result from self tan ever!!! So my skin is a challenge for fake tan and Wow Brown was well up to the challenge. I was delighted with the results. People actually noticed I was tan and I got loads and loads of complements. It has a dark guide colour in it which is a golden brown colour so its safe to head out with it on while its developing. The scent while it might be boyfriend friendly lol its most definitely not husband friendly as Mr Lip gloss made the comment "the smell of fake tan off ye" lol. Its not anymore smelly than other brands but for the colour pay off I am more than happy to smell like fake tan :) and the smell really only lasted until the day after I had applied it. It wore of fantastically well, not a bit of scaly looking skin in sight.
I was patchy in areas but that was all my own fault I was spraying myself instead of spraying the mitt at the start ha ha. So make sure this is how you apply it too spray the mitt and then apply to your body. And as it's a really dark colour make sure and apply moisturiser any dry areas as they will develop super dark if not.
So to sum up, I love it. Hate the smell but its something I can live with as it has excellent results. If your like me and can never find a tan that will give you the results you want you need to check this tan out.
You can purchase Wow Brown here it retails at €21.99. Check their facebook page too as I'm sure from time to time there will be offers going on.

St Tropez Bronzing Mousse
I've always embraced my pale skin but for some reason over the past few
weeks I've hated it. Self tanners and I haven't always gotten along. I
find that they never turn out as dark as I would of hoped and I end up smelling
of tan but still as pale as I was before and feeling deflated. I've tried almost every self
tanner around from the high priced to the cheap and cheerful. I have yet to
find one that I love, one did come close and that was Bare Essecutials Faux
Tan, what turned me off that was the size of the bottle its tiny!
Anyway on to the item up for discussion today, St Tropez Bronzing Mousse. St Tropez was one of the very first self tanners that I ever tried. We're talking about years ago here. I loved it back then, but other more affordable options became available and I just never went back to it. I was in my local pharmacy recently and spotted it was on sale (I know I am never out of that place!). The reduced price really was the main reason I bought it.
When I got home, I read the little bit of info on the side of the bottle and the word "aromaguard" stood out to me immediately :) We all know that horrible biscuit / curry smell well but suffered on in the hope of becoming a golden goddess :). So with the promise of aromaguard I wasted no time in tanning up.
So what do St Tropez say about it " Infused with conditioning aloe vera and long-lasting colour, our innovative Aromaguard™ fragrance technology eliminates the tell-tale self tan aroma by a minimum of 70% and instead gives a beautiful subtle, yet refreshing fragrance. Never orange, St Tropez Tan always gives a beautiful, golden colour."And what do I say? :) They aren’t lying, the smell although not gone completely (well they did say 70% gone :)) it's nowhere near as bad as it would be have been before. Normally the whole bedroom would smell in the morning, now there isn't even the smallest hint that there was a self tanner in the room. Only someone who was up really close to you would even notice. This is a huge selling point for me.
The application : I used a mitt and found that it went on easily and blended well. It seems to have evolved since I last used it, it doesn't have as much of a green tint to it as it did all those years ago, so it’s safe enough to go out after you have applied it. I used a moisturiser on my elbows and feet to stop that dreaded "tanning elbow" :).
The result. What they (St Tropez) say "Our best-selling product is perfect for anyone looking to get a natural-looking, streak-free golden tan that dries in an instant". I couldn’t agree more. That’s exactly the result I got. I recently asked my male friends on facebook what were major turn off's were where makeup was concerned and bless them they didn't seem to get the difference between makeup and fake tan :) but there was an outstanding response on fake tan. Majority of them hated a tan that looked orange and was too dark, they wanted a natural tan on their girls. So ladies if it's the men you are out to impress St Tropez is definitely something you should be looking into.
In the days that followed my application the tan wore off evenly and didn’t leave me with scaly looking skin like some tans tend to do.
So all in all my experience with St Tropez Bronzing Mousse was a really pleasant one. The only real turn off for me where St Tropez is concerned is the price at around €45 euro a bottle it’s not very BOB* friendly especially if you like to self tan a lot.
I've noticed on their website that they do a St Tropez dark range. I don’t think I have seen this in the shops in Ireland. (anyone?) I'd deffo give it a go when I do.
So what's your favourite self tanner? Any good recommendations out there for me to try?
Love
